Working in Spire Hospital in Nottingham, you’ll support the Head Chef as you prepare meals, beverages and snacks for the patients, Consultants and staff. Preparing, cooking, delivering and serving food in the staff restaurant, coffee shop and patient’s rooms and wards, your working day will include everything from chopping vegetables, to presenting meals attractively and cashing up when required. Taking dietary sensitivities and requests into consideration, your hygiene standards will be exemplary and your enthusiasm for learning will ensure you are a crucial part of this busy team.
Abiding by relevant health and safety legislation, you will apply your high standards to every duty you perform. You will therefore have experience of working in a busy restaurant-style kitchen environment, cooking for large quantities of people. If you have experience of catering in a hospital or clinical setting, that would be even better, but isn’t absolutely crucial. What is crucial is that you enjoy providing good customer service and have great interpersonal skills. Keen to take guidance from senior kitchen staff, you will need to be a flexible team player who is happy to work evenings and weekends on a rota basis.
