This is a great opportunity for an enthusiastic, driven & motivated Area Catering Manager to join our team as we embark on a journey that that will see us become, over the next 12 months, a wholly owned external business enabling us to develop a new name and brand allowing us to tender for external business and develop the already excellent services that we provide.

We are looking for a commercially experienced Area Catering Manager who wishes to pursue a career within this new area of local government and develop within an organisation which offers excitement and progression. This role will require the candidate to be flexible in approach, have a good understanding of managerial, commercial and education catering responsibilities and have a desire to build on and improve existing standards.

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate the ability to;

  • Communicate regularly with customers, and clients
  • Manage all aspects of catering operations at our schools and other commercial outlets
  • Improve and maintain the standards of service and quality of food & customer satisfaction
  • Promote, market and show innovation within our service at all times
  • Supervise, co-ordinate, motivate, train and work with your catering teams to provide a quality service
  • Manage the financial controls & Profit & Loss accounts at your individual locations

The ideal candidate will be able to;

  • Develop, train and motivate catering teams
  • Possession of excellent financial acumen
  • Must have a proven track record in the successful provision of catering services – particularly to education or a commercial environment
  • Have excellent communication skills – both written and spoken
  • Be self motivated and able to adapt to a changing environment
  • Be able to evidence excellent people management skills
  • Have previous experience of managing catering teams in a multi site environment
  • Have an eye for detail and a flair with food and customers

Qualifications Required

  • Catering Management / Craft Qualifications to HND or Diploma, or City & Guilds level
  • Current Food Safety & Healthy and Safety – Level 2 equivalent
  • Allergen Awareness
