Extraordinary buildings, fascinating artefacts, glorious surroundings and friendly, dedicated people - the Weald & Downland Living Museum is a unique and incredibly rewarding place to work. Located in the heart of the South Downs National Park, the award-winning museum has over 50 historic building exhibits and is designated by the Government for the outstanding importance of its collections. Exhibits include a medieval farmstead, a working watermill producing stoneground flour, exhibitions focusing on traditional building techniques and agriculture, historic gardens, farm livestock and a working Tudor kitchen. The Museum runs a well-established schools programme and an award-winning adult learning programme of courses in building conservation and rural crafts. The café uses the Museum’s flour and the shop stocks flour, gifts and books. The modern Downland Gridshell building houses the Museum’s building conservation workshop and artefact collection. The Museum’s stunning new Heritage Lottery Funded visitor centre includes a shop, inspirational hands-on introductory galleries, plus a waterside café Weald & Downland Living Museum are recruiting! As part of the Gateway Project the Museum is opening a brand new 80 seater café opening this Summer and are looking to recruit a number of catering staff for this exciting chapter in the Museum’s history.

Positions include;

  •          Catering Supervisor –  Seasonal
  •          Catering Service Assistants – Full Time, Variable, and Seasonal positions
  •          Chef de Partie – Full Time
  •          Commis Chef – seasonal possibly Full Time
  •          Kitchen Porter/assistants – Variable and seasonal

Previous experience is essential for all full-time positions and desirable for others
