Why not kick-start your career in Finance with an Apprenticeship within a FTSE30 organisation?

Our Fulfill Finance team in Swindon currently has a unique opportunity for a driven, ambitious and articulate Accountancy and Finance Apprentice to join our team on site at Cheney Manor Industrial Estate.

Starting an apprenticeship with Compass Group means that you aren’t just taking another job, it’s an opening to an exciting and rewarding career within Finance. It’s your chance to join a global organisation that places its people, their development and success at the forefront of what we do.

Compass is the world’s largest food and support services company, with operations not just in the UK, but on almost every continent. We boast some exciting contracts with the likes of Chelsea F.C, the Brit Awards and Aintree Racecourse. So we’re always on the lookout for the best talent to join us.

Main responsibilities

As an Apprentice Accounts Assistant you will work closely with our operational teams to ensure we are offering an outstanding service to the brands and operators we work with. You will play an integral role in supporting our team with taking control of the sales ledger, working with our customers to ensure payments of invoices; whilst conducting weekly reporting and processing of month-end activities. In addition to this, you will work with operational teams to advise on financial postings, whilst participating in year-end activities.

You will get to know our clients and managers across our business – you will establish an understanding of our current processes and controls we have in place and in turn, you will highlight areas for improvements and make suggestions to improve the way we work. No two days will be the same and you will learn how to adapt in an ever-changing and fast paced environment, developing both your technical skills and core behaviours.

Ideal candidate

To fit in with us, and for us to be right for you; you will have completed three A-Levels at a minimum of grade C or above (or equivalent). You will have a basic accounting knowledge and a demonstrable desire to develop a career within Finance. This role will be well suited to an articulate and passionate individual who is confidently able to articulate with stakeholders at all levels of seniority.

You will feel comfortable using Excel whilst being analytically minded, along with a strong attention to detail. Finally, we are seeking an individual who has a methodical and flexible approach to work.  You will also live by our values of Integrity, Teamwork, Passion, Can-do and Responsibility.
