We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Mechanical Technician to join our team.

Main responsibilities

To enhance the customer experience and reputation of ESS by effectively managing the mechanical assets, equipment, resources and third party suppliers ensuring the FM operation is in accordance with the client service level agreement, statutory requirements and company standards & procedures.

Ideal candidate
  • An enthusiastic individual with a drive & passion for leading within a Hard Services environment.

  • Recognised Mechanical apprenticeship

  • NVQ, City & Guilds L2 or L3 or equivalent in Industrial/Commercial installations

  • Complete Level 2 HSE e‐learning “Working Safely”

  • Full UK Driving Licence

  • Previous RP or CP M&E experience.

  • Sound technical understanding of M&E systems including PPM, Reactive Maintenance and Fault Rectification.

  • Manage site based skilled engineers building capability and engagement to optimise performance and support individuals to realise their potential.

  • Able to assist the ESH team with a hands on approach when required.

  • A good communicator, able to liaise confidently with colleagues & clients and lead, engage & develop team members.

  • Knowledge & experience of developing and implementing results orientated Hard Services strategies.

  • Knowledge & experience of delivering year on year improvements in service delivery.

  • Experienced in the operation of CAFM systems.

  • Good numeracy skills with the ability to analyse & interpret Management data.

  • Hold evidence of outstanding achievement in an ‘Asset Management/Safety Critical’ environment.

  • Manage the delivery of an outstanding service, retain clients and consumers and develop new business.

  • Use a range of communication skills and techniques to promote collaboration, build relationships and act tenaciously in challenging situations to achieve agreeable outcomes.

  • Develop medium term plans for a specific team, within the close parameters of the ESS Government Services strategy.

  • Manage change and improvement to support the contracts and the wider business and promote the sharing of ideas and best practice across the portfolio.

  • Monitor and optimise ESH performance with the resilience and flexibility to work at pace and adapt to change quickly to business needs.
