Bakery and Patisserie Chef

A very prestigious establishment in the heart of Chelsea is looking to recruit a creative and talented Bakery and Patisserie Chef to work in their in-house catering kitchen. The Chef - Pastry & Bakery is responsible to the Catering Manager for the efficient delivery of all pastry and bakery production.

The job is predominantly Monday to Friday, however will be required to do some weekends and holidays due to the nature of operations. You will receive excellent pay package with a Civil Service Pension Scheme, 25 days annual holidays plus Bank Holidays and overtime pay. You will be required to work 5 days out of seven days a week and 41 hours (inclusive of paid meal break) normally.

  • To be responsible to the Catering Manager for patisserie and bakery production in the main kitchen and other outlets in the organisation.
  • To continuously improve and update the menu cycle indicative of Pastry/Bakery.
  • To produce all events pastry & bakery items to the highest standard.
  • To ensure a good working relationship with all departments.
  • To support the catering team with all event and hospitality functions to the highest standards.
  • To ensure that all dishes have up to date recipe cards and methods.
  • To set standards and ensure that all legislation is adhered to in respect of hygiene, health and safety and mandatory training within the kitchens.
  • To be responsible for the serviceability of all kitchens related equipment.
  • To be responsible for the availability of all related consumables.
  • To perform any other duties deemed necessary for the smooth and efficient running of the Catering Department.
  • To prepare cakes, pastries and other items as requested by the Catering Manager or other departmental Mangers.
  • To take responsibility for own Health & Safety and for that of those affected by the post holder’s acts or omissions.
