Levy Restaurants UK has an excellent opportunity available for a General Manager for the Madejski Stadium, home of Reading Football club.  The Madejski Stadium offers a great range of event spaces for Match and non-match day events. The Royal Berkshire conference centre is managed and spaces sold by Compass and therefore this role offers a great platform for an experienced General Manager to really make an impact.

As General Manager you will take full responsibility for the £5M contract working closely with our clients and driving the business. You will ensure standards across all event and non-event days in both commercial and hospitality services. The business is a great mix of conference and events and you will develop and manage a motivated team, ensuring appropriate skills to ensure budget targets are achieved. Working with a fixed team of 20 and up to 300 casuals at peak times you will be an excellent leader, able to communicate at all levels.

Circa £60,000 per annum

To work 5 out of 7 days, in line with business needs.

Main responsibilities
  • Managing client and contractual relationships in a commercial manner ensuring compliance and company policies are adhered to
  • Driving the service and support to exceed our client's and our customers' expectations
  • Planning and implementing plans to achieve strategic growth of the operation and overall contract delivery
  • Coaching, developing and leading a team to provide exceptional service to the clients
  • Driving service excellence thereby exceeding customer expectations/requirements and enhancing the customer journey
  • Deliver the profit for the business through leading and supporting your team in delivery of their financial targets
  • Demonstrate an in depth knowledge of Food & beverage, operating with focus on innovation, standards and market awareness
Ideal candidate
  • Strategic Management experience within a similar Sport and Leisure / Retail and C&B background
  • The ability to build and lead an effective team
  • Standards and quality driven management style
  • Results orientated and motivated to achieve measurable results
  • Sound knowledge of Hygiene, Health and Safety
  • Have excellent interpersonal, communication and organisational skills
  • Be self-motivated and show the ability to work in a pressurised commercial, customer facing environment
