Main responsibilities

Reporting in to Chief Procurement Officer you will be responsible for leading the team of managers and buyers through key steps in the Foodbuy Procurement Framework for Hot Beverages, Bakery and Vending focusing on triggers, business needs, implementation and continuous improvement of the non-food category.  Accountable for approximately £70M category spend, you will define and implement the category strategy whilst remaining hands-on with day-to-day supplier and contract management. As an expert in your category, you will drive relationships with clients gathering and providing category and consumer market insights and trends, explore how we deliver our ranges to consumers and how we maximise value from the supply chain.

Ideal candidate

Functional procurement experience is a must as well as a passion for the category and the ability to look at clients’ needs as a source of inspiration. You will have experience in a consumer driven organisation, ideally within retail. Previous experience of supplier and client management is key as well as the ability to influence, engage and communicate at all levels. In addition to this, you will demonstrate strong leadership skills and adopt a collaborative cross-functional approach. You will be educated to degree level (or equivalent) and hold a relevant CIPS qualification.
