Oundle School is one of the country’s premier co-educational boarding and day schools. The School is spread throughout the historic town of Oundle, situated approximately 12 miles from Peterborough.
The Catering Department prides itself on consistently producing food of the highest quality for pupils, staff and visitors including hospitality events and the external Lets business. The role of the Chef is to focus on food production and service, producing healthy balanced food whilst maintaining hygiene, health and safety standards at the highest level.
Working as part of a team within the Catering department, the successful candidate will be a good all-rounder who demonstrates flair and is passionate about all things foodie. A proven team player, you will work to achieve the required high standards at all times in all areas.
Chefs work 80 hours over two weeks, including every other weekend during Term time. Some split shifts are required. Due to the nature of the role, these positions enjoy a number of weeks’ downtime outside of Oundle School Term time. Roles are available working either 36.4 or 41.4 weeks per annum, so are ideal for those who wish to enjoy longer holiday periods, or who have school age children. Salary is paid in 12 equal monthly instalments.
Within this large catering operation there is ample opportunity for ongoing personal development. Full uniform is provided and laundered on site and one meal per day is provided whilst on duty, during School Term times.
