We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced, passionate and excellent craft skilled sous chef who would like to take the opportunity to assist the head chef in managing a brigade of 6 - 8 chefs. 

The sous chef will be cooking for the students at Goldsmiths, University of London. The ideal candidate must have experience working within a high profile and high volume site. Package description

£26k - £ 28k per annum depending on experience, plus overtime

Mainly Mon – Fri, 40 hours per week, needs to be flexible as some weekend work on occasions

Between Hours of 7am – 4pm

Main responsibilities
  • Will be catering for breakfast and lunch service, all from fresh produce
  • Catering for large numbers
  • Assist the  head chef in managing a brigade of up to 7 chefs
  • Deputising the HC in his absence
  • Working to high standards and be quality driven
  • Committed to food and customer service innovation
  • Assisting the head chef in managing the brigade in their absence
  • Excellent people skills with the ability to develop and work well within a team
Ideal candidate
  • Passionate and aims to cook to the highest quality freshest food possible
  • Good motivator and able to work well within a team
  • IT literate
  • Have excellent culinary skills with great attention to detail
  • A creative thinker with sound knowledge of the latest food trends and fashions
  • Have sound knowledge of hygiene, health and safety requirements
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work in a pressurised environment
  • A team player with experience of supervising a team within a similar environment
  • You will have Qualified to NVQ level1/2 in food preparation and cooking or equivalent
  • Excellent people skills with the ability to develop and work well within a team
  • Immaculate personal presentation, outgoing, passionate, excellent customer service and communication skills are required for this highly visible position
