We are looking for a Chef to prepare, cook and present food to the highest standards in a clean, tidy, safe and pleasant environment.

Main responsibilities
  • Demonstrates the ability to input into planning of menus to achieve the following
  • Use of fresh food where advised by weekly menu
  • Buying within nominated suppliers and products
  • Exercises effective leadership skills
  • To produce food to the standards as laid out in the Brands Standard Manual and/or Recipe Bank.
  • Demonstrates that sufficient food is cooked and prepared to meet demand at different times, using batch cooking to maximise the presentation of food and minimise wastage
  • Garnish & serve food with correct accompaniments
  • Ensures all food is tasted prior to service
  • Demonstrates knowledge of portion control
  • Complies with quality standards, and to encourage higher standards by leading by example
  • Cooks a wide range of dishes
  • Has a regulated and consistent approach in relation to food with a constant awareness of customer eating trends, following the national recipe bank
  • Ensures counter is logically stocked and that there is sufficient food to meet service requirements
  • Ensures all food is at correct temperature, correctly garnished and positioned
  • Ensures that post production is carried out and that order quantities are reviewed in line with sales
Ideal candidate
  • City & Guilds 706/1 & 2 or NVQ equivalent
  • Experience of supervising a team
  • Good people skills
  • Passion about food and customer service
  • Neat and tidy in appearance
  • Awareness of Hygiene standards
  • A 'can do' attitude, prepared to help out the rest of the team in a willing and positive manner
  • Able to work in a busy environment
  • Good command of the English Language
