A unique opportunity has become available for a Deputy Chef Manager to join the team at Devonshire House residential care home, Sudbury, CO10 8AS.

Contracted Hours: 40 hours per week

Shift pattern: Alternate weekends, working

Pay: Up to £24,000 per annum

Reporting into the Chef Manager, you will be:

Working social hours as part of a dedicated catering team offering the very best in quality of food, customer service and a resident dining experience. 

Required knowledge & experience:

We are ideally looking for an existing Deputy Chef Manager or equivalent, who has a real passion for working with older people, cooking with fresh ingredients and has a minimum of 12 months experience of supervising a kitchen team.

A recognised catering qualification or a minimum of 2 years’ experience working within a kitchen environment. A level 3 in food and hygiene is desirable but not essential as we offer excellent training

Required skills:

Innovative ways of presenting food on a plate

Involvement with designing menus and recipes

Customer service

Passion in cooking using fresh ingredients

Flexible and able to work as part of a team and individually

A keen interest in working with elderly people

Experience of working towards a budget when ordering stock
