Glenalmond College is a co-educational independent boarding school in Perth and Kinross, Scotland, for children aged between 12 and 18 years. It is situated on the River Almond near the village of Methven

We have a great opportunity for an  experienced assistant  catering  manager to support the general manager.  We provide the daily catering for students and teachers, as well overseeing various functions and events.  The assistant manager will be supporting the general manager with overseeing the dining hall and functions.

  The ideal assistant catering manager must have hospitality and events experience, catering for large events.  You will be part of a team that supports high quality service and an outstanding food offer. You should share our passion for delivering the best service and exciting fresh and nutritious food on a daily basis. This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to progress within the next 2 years to a general manager

Package description

40 Hours per Week, working 5 days out of 7

No split shift, between 7am - 8pm

Between £22k - £24k depending on experience

Including 8 weeks holiday, not required to work Christmas

Free car parking

Will need your own transport

Meals on duty

Will need 5 years checkable references

Main responsibilities
  • Assist in managing  a team of up to 20 - 30  staff to deliver an excellent catering service with great customer service skills and quality food
  • To assist the general manager with all aspects of the business
  • Will be overseeing the dining hall  and various functions
  • Fully responsible for all H&S and F&H regulations
  • Develop the existing team's knowledge and skills.
  • Assist in the smooth running of all events and functions
Ideal candidate
  • Experience in managing corporate hospitality and fine dining functions ideally within  a hotel or sport and leisure venues.
  • Good level of conferencing background
  • Experience working within a high volume establishment
  • Passion for high quality food and innovative concepts
  • Eye for detail, work well under pressure and very organised
  • Track record of staff development including training and motivating staff
  • It would be to your advantage if you have a hotel management diploma
