About the Role:
Working as a member of the Family Services team at HMP Nottingham or HMP Bristol , with a focus on running a high quality, friendly and profitable refreshment service in the visit hall (and visitors centre) for prisoners and their families to support an enriched visiting experience. The aim of running a profitable service is to enable Pact to invest to enrich the family service at the prison.
You will be required to take personal responsibility for excellence, ensuring there is a focus on customer service, with staff and volunteers treating all customers with respect and by providing a welcoming and friendly service that feels connected to the rest of the Pact family services.
You will deliver the refreshment service with support from the national Catering Quality and Development Manager and your line manager, the Family Engagement Manager, ensuring it provides quality food, snacks and drinks in a timely manner that take into account the dietary requirements and cultural needs of the families visiting the prison at times agreed in [visitors centres/ visits hall].
To be successful in this role you will have demonstrable experience and understanding of customer service, managing stock and supervising a team of volunteers. You will also have excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage a demanding work load.
You will ensure the refreshment service operates at the highest standards for hygiene and complies with Health & Safety and Food Hygiene regulations (including implementing and enforcing standards of personal hygiene and dress), maintaining records for inspection, including the Safer Food, Better Business file.
You will ensure financial procedures are implemented properly within the service, including cash handling and banking, stocktakes and the flow of financial information to the Central Office finance team and to the Catering Quality and Development Manager.
This role will require working weekends on a rota basis.
