We have great opportunity for a Chef Manager to join our team in one of our education sites in Ferryhill College.  Ferryhill Business And Enterprise College is a comprehensive school located in Ferryhill, County Durham. The school specialises in Business and Enterprise.

We are seeking a chef manager who has a passion for food and has excellent culinary skills, wants to make a difference and gets enjoyment out of cooking good food and lightening up someone’s lunch break, and who enjoys working with children.

You will be working for the largest contract catering company in the world, within the education sector

Up to £17k  per annum depending on experience 35  hours per week,

Mon - Fri, Term time, therefore you will have up to  11 weeks holiday.

Main responsibilities
  • Managing a  motivated and experienced team
  • Catering for breakfast, midmorning break and lunch
  • All food is cooked from fresh

  • Ensure all customer requirements are delivered in line with the expectation
Ideal candidate

The ideal Chef Manager will have:

  • City and Guilds 706/3 / NVQ Level 2 in Food Preparation /
  • Supervisory experience in similar environment
  • Good understanding of P&L accounts
  • Sound knowledge of Hygiene, Health and Safety
  • Standards and quality driven management style
  • Motivated by a passion for quality and great service delivery
  • Interpersonal, administrative and organisational skills
  • Computer literacy
  • Financial and commercial acumen
  • A 'Can do' attitude
