We are currently looking for a strong Back of House Supervisor to ensure all tasks associated with the back of house services and any general support services are carried out proficiently and in accordance to Health & Safety guidelines. You will be responsible of the supervision of team members to ensure all general duties are completed to appropriate standards to support the efficient and smooth running of the venue in line with contractual requirements.

Main responsibilities

Your daily responsibilities will include but not limited to:

  • Ensuring all areas are set to the highest standards and in line with client requirements
  • Being aware of and meeting the Legal and Company requirements for fire safety, health and hygiene
  • Reporting health and safety issues to your line manager, including all accidents and near misses
  • Promoting good safety habits and methods of work
  • Ensuring all displays, counters and seating areas comply with company and statutory health and hygiene requirements
  • Responding to the pace of the business in terms of speed of work and productivity
  • Assisting in the preparation of hospitality as required
  • Operating machinery as shown and trained to do so, ensuring that the equipment is used safely and in accordance with current regulations and company policies 
  • Reporting any equipment faults/damage to property as appropriate
  • Accepting and checking appropriate deliveries and ensure items are stored as required
Ideal candidate
  • Previous experience of supervising teams within a similar environment
  • Experience of working in a busy environment especially during service times
  • Experience of working in environments involving high levels of customer care
  • Good communication skills in order to be able to liaise with a wide range of team members and customers within your work environment
  • Able to comply with legislation and follow all rules and regulation laid down in the staff handbook and unit policy statements, with regard to uniform, personal hygiene, health and safety
  • Customer service focused
  • Team player and can-do attitude
  • Takes pride in personal appearance and hygiene
  • Self motivated and able to use own initiative
  • Ability to work under pressure whilst maintaining a positive attitude
  • Be able to handle a variety of manual handling duties

Desirable:

  • Experience of managing budgets within similar environment
  • NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in relevant area
