An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Chef Manager to join Chartwells part of Compass Group UK&Ireland, to manage one of our education sites in Loughborough.

Reporting to the Area manager your role will be to achieve maximum sales and profit by having motivated and skilled staff who deliver an excellent customer experience. The Chef Manager will be responsible to training and motivating the team to get the best out of each individual to make this a successful and profitable unit

You will be working for the largest contract catering company in the world.

Mon - Fri, 7.30 am - 3pm, 35  hours per week

Up to £18000 per annum including 13 weeks holiday

Main responsibilities
  • Managing a team of up to 8 staff
  • Catering for the secondary and primary school
  • Cooking up to 200 hot meals per day all from fresh as well as catering for the grab and go section
  • To develop your business by continually seeking opportunities to increase sales and improve service anticipating changes and planning accordingly.
  • To develop the client realtionship on site
  • Fully responsible for H&S and F&H regulations
  • Stock taking and ordering of stock
  • Responsible for the P&L accounts
Ideal candidate

The ideal candidate will have:

  • City and Guilds 706/3 / NVQ Level 2 in Food Preparation
  • Must have experience working within a busy environment
  • Enjoy working with children
  • Strong management style and be able to motivate the team
  • Sound knowledge of Hygiene, Health and Safety
  • Standards and quality driven management style
  • Motivated by a passion for quality and great service delivery
  • Interpersonal, administrative and organisational skills
  • Computer literacy
  • Financial and commercial acumen
  • A 'Can do' attitude
