Main responsibilities

Reporting in to the Head of Category for Retail & Beers, Wines & Spirits you will lead and motivate a team of two Buyers to grow and develop the branded goods category.  With spend of circa. £75M, the remit of your role will cover cold beverages, confectionary and crisps, snacks and nuts. You will be responsible for creating and executing category strategies, growing category sales and building strong and sustainable relationships with our category partners ensuring the consumers’ needs are understood and delivered against for both our internal clients and our growing external client base.

Ideal candidate

For us to be right for you, and for you to be right for us, you will have extensive experience of building relationships with big brands, ideally within FMCG. You will be commercially aware with previous buying/category management experience and you will have the ability to build a category strategy focussing on consumer needs. With previous people management experience, you will demonstrate how you can instil enthusiasm and motivation within your team, coaching and developing to support their growth.
