We are looking for an experienced Hard and Soft Services Manager to manage a team of 12 in our unit within the Joffe Building Campus of Oxford Brooks University in Swindon. This role will be overseeing the Building Maintenance, Cleaning, Security and Catering operations. This role is mianly Monday-Friday, but there will be an element of flexibility needed due to having reporting employees working a 5 over 7 shift pattern. We are looking for someone with great knowledge and experience in all operations but especially a focus on the Hard FM.

Package description
  • £35,000 per annum dependent on experience
  • 14-16 month maternity cover contract (includes handover period)

Main responsibilities
  • Develop strategic and operational plans for the client’s needs, managing execution and measuring results
  • To carry out routine inspections and audits of the regional sites and ensure that all levels of the Support Services are maintained to a high standard and maintained at all times
  • To advocate and follow agreed policies and procedures and ensure your teams follow suit
  • Drive cutting edge solutions and innovative behaviour
  • To perform any administrative duties required within the operation
  • To use your own initiative to ensure you are able to identify where you need to change your own activities to meet different circumstances
  • Consistently develop the customer experience and understand customer requirements
  • Encourage and inspire teams to achieve targets and enhance performance which drives results
  • Conduct regular performance reviews to set objectives and provide coaching and support to deliver results
  • Identify and proactively support the development of talented individuals to support area succession plans
Ideal candidate
  • Proven experience in hard services is essential
  • A natural leader who has the ability coach, develop and mentor their people
  • Listen to and understand the needs of the client and adopt our service offering
  • Experience in managing budgets and delivering operational goals
  • Innovation and passionate in the way you develop and delivery commercial values to your region and to the clients expectations
  • Proven multi-suit experience
  • Must have a full driving licence and be able to drive due to the nature of the role
  • Will be on call so flexibility required and will also be required to stay away from home as and when required
  • Ability to work well under pressure whilst maintaining a positive can do attitude
  • IT literate
  • Financially astute
