We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced, passionate and excellent craft skilled Chef De Partie who would like to take the challenge in progressing into a sous chef at a later stage to  assist the Executive Chef in managing a brigade of 12 chefs in an Independent School in Horsham. This is a great opportunity to work along side a very experienced Executive Chef. If you have the drive and confidence in leading a team, then this could be for you?

The Chef De Partie will be cooking for the students on site who love to enjoy delicious food that is as fresh as it is creative. We pride ourselves on offering a food service that is second to none. This is a great opportunity to join us working day time hours, so no more unsociable hours! Reporting to the head chef  and working alongside an amazing brigade helping to bring the best food trends and fashions to our customers on a daily basis.

Up to £19k dependant on experience

40 hours per week 5 days over 7

Free car parking, candidate will need their own transport

Main responsibilities
  • Will be catering for breakfast, lunch and dinner service, all from fresh produce
  • Catering for hospitality and cooking to very high standards
  • Assist the Executive Chef in managing a small brigade
  • Working to high standards and be quality driven
  • Committed to food and customer service innovation
  • Assist in stock taking, ordering of stock
  • Excellent people skills with the ability to develop and work well within a team
Ideal candidate
  • Passionate and aims to cook to the highest quality freshest food possible
  • Preferably come from a high profile BI site or from a hotel background
  • Good motivator and able to work well within a team
  • IT literate
  • Have excellent culinary skills with great attention to detail
  • A creative thinker with sound knowledge of the latest food trends and fashions
  • Have sound knowledge of hygiene, health and safety requirements
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work in a pressurised environment
  • A team player with experience of supervising a team within a similar environment
  • You will have Qualified to NVQ level1/2 in food preparation and cooking or equivalent
  • Excellent people skills with the ability to develop and work well within a team
  • Immaculate personal presentation, outgoing, passionate, excellent customer service and communication skills are required for this highly visible position
