Assistant Food & Beverage and Events Manager (Ref: AFBMS)

A permanent 30 hours per week vacancy at The Spotlight in Hoddesdon

Salary £17,238 pa

In this role, you will help to develop new menus and recipe ideas, be responsible for the smooth running of the kitchen and bar services and create new opportunities, bookings and events for the Centre.

The ideal candidate will be a passionate foodie who can balance costs with quality. You will also have experience of working in a similar environment, excellent communication and presentation skills and a passion and drive for delivering results and exceeding expectations. You will have excellent people skills that can motivate and empower the team to be the best they can be.

If you are passionate about food, bar and service delivery and have the skills and enthusiasm to help progress the business, this position is for you.

The Spotlight is a unique multi-purpose facility which hosts weddings, conferences, meetings and exhibitions as well as regular screenings of the latest films and a variety of shows. You will be required to provide food ranging from bar snacks and meals to catering for weddings and parties. The work will include weekends and evenings and will include bar work. For this reason applicants must be aged 18 or over.

Staff can be required to work across other Council Leisure sites if the need arises.

The ability to converse at ease with members of the public and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential in this post.
