Customer Experience Commercial Development Manager - Permanent - Full time

We have an exciting opportunity to join our Customer Experience team based in York right on the banks of the River Ouse (idyllic!)

You have the opportunity to influence & challenge at a senior level, but also realising that you can impact across the whole business, especially our onboard catering teams.

As a senior member of the on board services development team you’ll lead the development and delivery of the on board catering proposition we offer our customers. You’ll develop & lead on all commercial opportunities, maintaining & enhancing the value of one of the biggest contracts across the business and support the business with bold & innovative strategies.

Here’s where you’ll have a direct impact upon our customers; you’ll understand a number of markets, from our competitors & other businesses who offer their customers a market leading catering experience.

You’ll support the development of the LNER (London North Eastern Railway) brand by ensuring alignment of menu development, contract management, supply chain and procurement strategies with the customer experience and corporate, environmental and social responsibility strategies.

Your internal network is key, this is where you’ll influence & work very closely with internal stakeholders, such as the marketing team, to ensure that your new & exciting ideas around the onboard offer are promoted and communicated both internally to our frontline staff & to our customers.

Your contract management experience will help us develop and deliver an innovative and commercially viable retail strategy for on-board services which is compelling to our customers, taking the responsibility for managing the menu development team to deliver new and innovative products and catering solutions.

You’ll lead the catering order process to enable maximisation of product availability whilst minimising waste and cost. You’ll achieve this through your extensive experience procurement, retendering and renegotiate of contracts to ensure the achievement of best value commercial, customer experience and safety.
