Levy Restaurants UK have an excellent opportunity available for an Events Manager for the QEII Centre based in the heart of Westminster with fantastic views of Parliament and Westminster Abbey. 

The QEII centre is the largest dedicated conference, events and exhibition space in central London, offering world class facilities for high profile conferences, conventions, exhibitions, awards dinners and corporate events with capacity for up to 2,500 and hosting over 400 events a year.

Main responsibilities
  • Principal contact between Leith’s and the client, selling, developing, organising and managing conference and event catering
  • To respond to all incoming catering enquiries within 24 hours
  • Flexibility to deal with a wide range of issues that may occur during the working day
  • Ensure client requirements are communicated to the highest possible standard
  • Advise clients on the best way to manage their event and suggest alternatives if appropriate
  • Building relationships with clients, whilst maximising all business opportunities through upselling; including follow up calls with clients to ensure satisfaction and to explore the possibility of repeat business
  • Monitor all standards of service, particularly food quality
  • Monitor suppliers in terms of quality, price and service
  • To work closely with the Leith’s Event Managers to achieve good financial results and support where necessary
  • Responsible for all client meetings, whether face-to-face or by telephone. To be involved in showrounds and requirements meetings for events
  • Responsible for ensuring client contracts and prepayments have been received prior to the actual event day
  • Responsible for creating Catering Schedules for clients confirming all of their catering requirements, and liaising with clients regularly to ensure all last minute changes and requests are met on the event day
  • Being able to react in situations regarding operational issues
  • Holding Menu Tastings for clients who request this prior to an event
  • Responsible for promoting the Centre and Leith’s, creating an opportunity to sell to clients
  • To ensure that a high quality of work, personnel presentation and communication is kept by all staff members of Leith’s
  • To keep a tracking system and client database for past, current and prospective clients, providing information for the Divisional Sales Manager on a regular basis
  • To attend departmental meetings
  • To work closely with the Head and Sous Chef when dealing with clients who require bespoke menus
  • Paying close attention to the colour, texture, nutritional content and cost of menus
  • To work closely with suppliers for upselling to clients at the first opportunity
Ideal candidate
  • Excellent Catering and Leadership skills
  • Passion for events, catering and planning
  • Experience within a similar venue/contract
  • High levels of customer service and food quality
  • Excellent client relationship skills
  • Capable of managing large teams
  • Organised, able to judge and prioritise
  • Have a flexible approach with a “can do” attitude
  • Sound knowledge of Hygiene, Health and Safety
