Head Chef

The Kilmarnock Arms Hotel is looking for a Head Chef to continue the excellent work that our current Head Chef has achieved over the last few years, as he is moving out of the area to pastures new.

The hotel is privately owned & is well established, situated in the picturesque village of Cruden Bay, just a 3 minute walk from the fabulous Cruden Bay beach, with Slains Castle, the harbour & Cruden Bay Golf Course also within a short walk. The hotel is open all year round, with business levels peaking in the summer with golfing parties.

The hotel has 19 bedrooms, a restaurant, lounge bar & public bar and serves breakfast, lunch & dinner 7 days a week.  We have a strong local trade that has been built up steadily over the last 9 years, which we are looking to continue to improve upon to ensure our continued excellent reputation within the local area.

We are ideally looking for an experienced Head Chef who lives locally or someone who is willing to relocate to Cruden Bay, however we would also consider applicants with a number of years’ experience as a Sous Chef, who are ready to take the step up to a Head Chef position. Our current Head Chef works alongside the team in a hands-on role, helping to teach & develop them as individuals, and we would want to maintain this aspect of the role.

Whilst the hotel is 3 star rated, our food offering & service greatly surpasses the standard expected of a 3 star hotel and our aim would be to achieve an AA rosette within the next 12 months, so candidates with experience at this level would be welcomed.

We can offer a very competitive salary, based on experience & capability, but unfortunately, live-in accommodation is currently not available as our staff accommodation is currently full.
