We are looking for a talented and passionate Chef to come onboard and join the team at Defence CBRN, Winterbourne Gunner near Salisbury.

The Defence Chemical Biological Radiological and Nuclear Centre (DCBRNC) designs and runs courses that qualify individuals of all 3 services for operational, training and staff CBRN defence appointments.

DCBRNC is located at Winterbourne Gunner, about 5 km north-east of Salisbury, Wiltshire, on the southern edge of Salisbury Plain.

Package description

Shift pattern:

Early – 6am till 2pm

Late – 12:30 noon till 8:00pm

1 Weekend in every 5

Occasional late finish and flexibility required.

Salary: £9.00 – 37.5 hours per week

Main responsibilities

As one of our talented Chefs, you will support the catering operation to improve the customer food service experience by delivering a best in class food offer, to military and civilian personal

You will have excellent culinary skills with an attention to detail, a team player, and willing to take responsibility. As a chef you will be qualified to NVQ level 2 in food preparation and cooking or equivalent and be quality driven

Ideal candidate
  • Ideally, you will have NVQ Level 1/2 in food preparation and cooking or equivalent
  • Proven experience as a Chef
  • Basic Food Hygiene certificate
  • The skills to produce great food
  • Self-motivated and the ability to work in a pressurised environment
  • Team player
  • A 'Can-do' attitude
