Compass Group UK & Ireland recently completed the transfer of its Shared Services functions to Infosys BPM. Compass now requires an internal communications executive to deliver a communications programme that supports both the teams working across HR and Finance Shared Services in Compass and Infosys BPM and the wider business and users. The role is based at Compass’ Parklands office in Birmingham reporting into the Director of HR Transformation and working very closely with the Communications team based in Uxbridge.

This is an exciting and challenging role for an individual wanting to expand their internal communications and stakeholder relations capabilities. 

Package description
  • Up to £45,000 dependent on experience
  • Monday - Friday only, based in Birmingham with work from home options and some travel to Uxbridge expected
  • Lots of scope to develop and progress
Main responsibilities
  • Liaise closely with HR, Finance and Communications colleagues on executing the activities agreed in the internal communications plan for Shared Services
  • Develop content that supports agreed activities for use across all traditional and social platforms internally
  • Work to deliver content that is compelling and appealing and that can be re-used and tailored as needed for different audiences and different channels
  • Manage the logistics and administration of all internal events and activities in support of good communications related to Shared Services such as invitations to town hall meetings, briefing notes for senior executives, Q&A documents, etc.
  • Work with colleagues to develop creative solutions to overcome particular internal communications challenges
  • Manage milestone events such as customer satisfaction surveys and conferences with responsibility for supporting senior colleagues in the development of presentations, speeches and video content
  • Monitor external current and business affairs and provide internal communications advice on any possible impact on the business
  • Be attuned to the work of the Communications team regarding Compass’ internal and external communications channels and provide latest thinking on getting the most from our channels in respect of HR and Finance Shared Services
Ideal candidate
  • Sufficient and appropriate internal communications /  employee engagement experience, preferably in a large, multi-sector organisation
  • Experience and examples of writing own content
  • Be comfortable working across different social media channels and interested in the trends that shape content and collaboration on these channels
  • Be comfortable handling multiple tasks and prioritising as needed
  • Have excellent writing and verbal skills with particularly high standards of grammar, punctuation and spelling and with strong creative writing skills
  • Be a self-starter, highly organised and comfortable working both autonomously and within teams
  • Be a person who enjoys collaborating with colleagues and have the ability to build and maintain strong relationships across a diverse range of stakeholders
  • Shared services experience preferred but not necessary
