Our contract with the Department of Health mobilised in early July and with complex stakeholder landscape and processes still to be implemented, we require a confident communicator who is comfortable with change to join our team.

Main responsibilities

As our Finance Manager, you will report into Foodbuy's Head of Financial Planning & Analysis providing commercial support, financial control and governance to our contract with the Department of Health (DoH). Your responsibilities and accountabilities include:

  • Providing commercial finance support to the DoH Foodbuy Account Management Team
  • Build strong relationships with client stakeholders
  • Control the monthly management accounting processes, including necessary accruals and prepayments
  • Completion and ongoing revision of Finance Standard Operating Procedures
  • Work with Account Management/Strategic Sourcing team to define annual Target Costs and Target Savings by Service Period
  • Manage and report monthly Actual Costs against Target Costs, meeting client format requirement and deadlines
  • Keep detailed records of Actual Costs to facilitate Open Book processes including client auditing
  • Manage and report monthly on Intangible Cost Process
  • Manage and report monthly Actual Saving against Target Savings, meeting client format requirement and deadlines
  • Calculation of monthly gainshare
  • Invoicing client for cost and gainshare payments
  • Continual liaison with client Savings Team to provide information on savings that allow for client validation
  • Continuous review of processes and procedures to improve the productivity and effectiveness
Ideal candidate

To be right for us and for us to be right for you, you will be working towards a professional qualification in ACA, CIMA or ACCA with strong commercial finance experience. You will have the following skills, knowledge and experience: 

  • Highly numeric with excellent analytical skills
  • Confident communicator with ability to influence, persuade and negotiate at all levels
  • Able to concisely communicate oral and written financial information to non-finance professionals
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to analyse and evaluate information 
  • Comfortable operating at a fast paced, highly commercial level
