Are you an operational HR professional? Do you have experience of managing a variable/high volume workforce in the hospitality and catering industry? As the HR Business Partner, you will work closely with the Senior Leadership Team and our Contract Managers, you will be responsible for ensuring we have the best people available, ensuring they are trained and developed to provide the best service at some of our most high profile contracts. You will oversee all HR generalist requirements and be fully supported by Compass Group UK HR Specialists whilst out and about within our various different contracts.

  • £40,000 - £45,000
  • London & South East travel but flexibility required

  Main responsibilities
  • Liaise and advise General Manager on site and Central Team regarding management of all ER cases
  • Management and resolution of grievances with application of lessons learnt
  • Project manage and oversee sector TUPE mobilisations/demobilisations
  • Guardian of any change management projects
  • Sourcing and selection of fixed staff and co-ordination and support of variable staff recruitment ensuring the individual unit people plans exist and are regularly updated
  • Ensure all legal sourcing obligations i.e. Right to Work and Equality are adhered and complied with
  • Have appropriate processes in place for talent and succession planning within the sector liaising with HoHR where appropriate
  • Oversee training and development standards for sector
  • Regular measurement of the impact of training and application ensuring fit for the business needs
  • Assist and deliver the sector management induction programme
  • Ensure in unit inductions are carried out and the content revised on a regular basis
  • Understanding and application to be consistent across sector
  • Maintenance and development of HR content in conjunction with other stakeholders
  • Review audits with GM’s to agree remedial actions to address issues
  • Coordinating appropriate base pay and other reward elements
  • Monitoring agency spend across sector and individual units and addressing reasons and solutions for overspend
  • Working with General Managers and Finance team to resolve payroll queries, review issues and support accurate forecasting
  • Monitor all other people associated costs i.e. uniform, staff feeding etc to ensure best value for the business whilst providing improved service/offer for our workforce
  • Build strong relationship with all internal stakeholder

     

Ideal candidate

To be right for us, you will be an experienced operational, hands on, HR Manager, or similar, with experience working in a demanding, fast past environment. You will have the following skills, knowledge and experience: 

  • Previous experience in the hospitality or service industry
  • CIPD qualified or working towards
  • Commercial experience in a fast paced, high volume, variable labour environment
  • Experience of working within a complex employee relations business
  • Used to dealing with high volumes of staff for short period of times
  • Awareness of recruitment market and key competitors
  • Experience of working with a client group
  • High degree of IT proficiency alongside excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Training delivery skills
  • Ability to lead others
  • Engaging, enthusiastic, sociable and motivated
  • Able to influence and operate at all stakeholder levels and able to flex personal style as necessary
  • Ability to support and drive change with effective project and stakeholder management skills
