Security Supervisor - North Middlesex Hospital
We are looking for 2 dynamic individuals and highly motivated team players with good organisational skills to join the security team. To provide a flexible, high quality service extending care and consideration to patients, staff and visitors.
To communicate effectively with staff, patients and visitors at all times and receive security requests via telephone, taking prompt and appropriate action in a courteous and helpful manner.Main responsibilities
To maintain good order and prevent public disorder on site.
To protection of patients, staff, contractors and visitors against acts of violence, aggression and abuse.
The protection of property belonging to the Trust, patients, staff, visitors and contractors against loss, theft and damage.
To assist with violent, aggressive and confused patients at ward level.
Operate and answer communication devices, i.e. radio's bleep's, in a courteous manner and action the requests.
Give directions and advice to patients and visitors across the site.
Log all security incidents using the computerised incident reporting system, pass on any relevant information to the rest of the team via email.
Keep Police log numbers, security reports for police, contact police and security as and when required.
Be responsible for the security of CCTV information, to report any CCTV faults to the contract company.
Respond to requests for assistance from wards and departments.
Challenge any person on site as to their business on site out of hours.
Ask trespassers to leave the premises, if the trespasser refuses to leave quietly when asked to do so obtain assistance from other security staff or the police.Ideal candidate
flexible and willing to change shift patterns at short notice to provide essential cover to sustain a 24/7 security service. Currently working a 7on 3 off shift pattern although this is under review and may change to meet the business needs.
To take part in regular performance appraisal.
To undertake any training required in order to maintain competency including mandatory and statutory training, i.e. Fire, Manual Handling.
To contribute to and work within a safe working environment.
The post holder is expected to comply with Trust Infection Control Policies and conduct him/herself at all times in such a manner as to minimise the risk of healthcare associated infection.
To report any accidents or incidents in a timely manner in accordance with the correct Trust procedure.
To ensure that emergency procedures e.g. major incident, are carried out in accordance with the departmental policy using the approved paperwork as logged in the Emergency Preparedness file.
Be of a smart, hygienic appearance whilst, wearing full uniform at all times.
Actively contribute to a harmonious working environment.
Undertake any other duties relating to security which may be requested by the Security Manager or Head of security and support services.

Training, Knowledge & Skills
Ability to use Microsoft Office, Word Excel and Outlook applications.
Competent use of two way radio and correct voice procedure.
Good written and verbal communication.
Successfully complete NHS recognised training and updates in the following:
Physical Intervention training, Health Care Security Officer training.
Successfully complete Conflict Resolution training.
Understand the Data Protection Act 1998 (personal data and CCTV).
Attend any courses relevant to post to improve good working practice.
Understanding the Criminal Justice and Immigration Act (CJIA).About the company
