The University of Lincoln Students’ Union is an independent body which exists to support students in both their academic and non-academic experiences whilst working closely with the University of Lincoln and local community.

The Barge Manager will be responsible for the effective operation, development and day-to-day running of a premium cocktail bar called The Barge, a boat permanently moored on the Brayford Pool besides the waterfront which is one of the commercial venues of the Students’ Union. With The Barge yet to open, The Barge Manager will work with the Head of Commercial Operations to oversee its opening and development of service.

Key Responsibilities include: 

  • Being responsible for the operation of The Barge, ensuring high standards are maintained at all times in line with industry practice
  • Develop effective operational systems, policies and procedures, ensuring a safe environment for all staff and customers
  • To be responsible for the recruitment, appointment and management of an Assistant Manager and Team Members in line with company procedures and guidance
  • To observe, as applicable, and ensure the adherence to Licencing Laws, Procedure, and instructions relating to fire and accidents, Hygiene, and Health and Safety Regulations and all aspects of consumer law
