Event Head Chef
We have an excellent opportunity for someone to join Richmond and Kai Catering Events team at our production base in South Ealing as the Events Head Chef. We are accredited at some of London’s most amazing venues, Forty Hall, Freemasons Hall, Stationers Hall, The Hop Exchange, London Film Museum to name but a few.
This will be a hands on position where your role will oversee the kitchen, being a problem solver and an inspirational leader, motivating and developing your team to create a culture of passion and enthusiasm for the preparation and service of food, you will have responsibility for planning, organising and communicating between the kitchen, back of house and our events team, organising the food for each event to be on time and to have all the components to deliver everything that the client requires for their event.
Experience with HACCP, health and safety regulations and maintaining our five star score.
Having a strong financial acumen, taking responsibility with menu planning, supplier knowledge, ordering, food costing, portion control, wastage control and meeting set staff labour budgets for preparation & event work.
Must have a full Uk drivers license as you will will be required to drive to events and tasting
The Ideal candidate
Creative and innovative menu writing
Interviewing and appraisals for kitchen staff
Proven experience in managing and leading a large and diverse team with major caterers
Knowledge of public event spaces and the restrictions and working with institutes
A Strong financial understanding and demonstrable budgeting management
Diverse event catering experience
Demonstrative customer focus and service skills
Strong communication and negation skills with suppliers
Training & development of kitchen staff
Good communication skills with Kai/Richmond management & venue managers
