If so, our Levy UK business has a brilliant opportunity for a People Operations Manager to join us onsite at the Excel Exhibition Centre in London!

We cater for over 300 events per year, meeting a hugely diverse range of requirements putting food and drink at the heart of the visitor experience. Main responsibilities

As our People Operations Manager, you will oversee and manage all casual recruitment and ER queries for ExCel London Hospitality, developing and maintaining a progressive recruitment strategy and utilising all available resources. You will have the following responsibilities and accountabilities:

  • Act as an influential resource and provide support to the senior management team on all employee relation issues, in conjunction with HR Support Centre and HRBP at all times
  • To support the overall business objectives by working with the senior management team  to ensure a fully focused  HR support structure is in place for all employees and casual workers, by making accessibility a priority
  • Support all performance management and succession planning within the venue in conjunction with the HRBP
  • Acts as a central point of contact for employee queries on HR policies and procedures
  • Assist at grievance and disciplinary investigations and hearings as required and in conjunction with HR Support Centre/HRBP
  • Collaborates with HOD’s to identify training needs and drives development of high performers
  • Review, update and distribute annual performance reviews
  • Challenge the way things are done and continually improve
  • To spot business opportunities and make constant improvements within the People Operations team
  • Support the team with all aspects of event labour scheduling to address forecast and actual labour spends
  • Work to develop and advise on action plans to reduce labour turnover and improve retention amongst employees
  • Ensure all weekly payroll is process and signed off within the deadline and in line with company policy
Ideal candidate

To be right for us, you will ideally have previous experience providing staffing solutions in a venue or events based environment. You will ideally have experience or knowledge in the following areas:

  • Previous experience as a Staffing or People Operations Manager or similar in a demanding fast paced environment
  • Experience of managing ER issues and coaching managers
  • Experienced leader who has a people first approach to business
  • A positive attitude and friendly approach
  • Commercial experience in a fast paced, high volume variable labour environment (desirable)
  • Awareness of London recruitment market and key competitors
  • Experience of working with a client group
  • High degree of IT proficiency
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to lead others
  • Engaging, enthusiastic, sociable and motivated (essential)
  • Able to influence and operate at all stakeholder levels
  • Ability to support change with effective project and stakeholder management skills
