People Operations Manager

Reporting to the HR Manager we are looking for an experienced People Operations Manager to deliver the variable people strategy at Spurs new stadium. You will have experience in executing flawless people operations in the events field and you put our people at the heart of all you do.

Main responsibilities

As our People Operations Manager, you will oversee and manage all casual recruitment for Tottenham Hotspur, developing and maintaining a progressive recruitment strategy and utilising all available resources. You will have the following responsibilities and accountabilities:

  • Lead and manage recruitment of over 2000 variable team members required for Event days
  • Liaise with Head of marketing to ensure campaigns are kept fresh and we are an enviable choice of employment
  • Work collaboratively with HODs to create labour planners and determine all event day staffing needs, never compromising on quality -  flexed to events; be they football, NFL, music concerts or other ad hoc opportunities
  • Manage and control labour in line with budget & analyses financial performance per event
  • Manage a 365 check in operation including uniform distribution and cloakroom management
  • Pioneer use of technology for communication and operational efficiencies
  • Lead a team of 3 People Operations assistants
  • Manage people files in line with legal requirements and company core standards
  • Champion staff welfare
  • Collaborate with Training manager to identify training needs and drives development of high performers
  • Create a workplace that cultivates retention and consistency
  • Understand different guests needs and matches staff to fit
  • Challenge and continually review variable labour specifications within all areas to assess cost effectiveness
  • Manage and deliver payroll weekly for all variable staff, ensure paid right first time
  • Strategise relationships with 3rd party suppliers/partners who are contracted to deliver services on our behalf
Ideal candidate

To be right for us, you will ideally have previous experience providing staffing solutions in a venue or events based environment. You will ideally have experience or knowledge in the following areas:

  • Nice person
  • Experience of strategic / tactical planning and execution of high volume recruitment plans without compromising quality
  • You are full of energy and have a great passion for people and great service
  • Experience gained in an events environment
  • Proven track record of working within given budgets
  • Experience with a casual workforce is essential
  • Must have previously managed a team and labour budgets
  • Social media and Tech savvy
  • Effectively juggles multiple priorities and timescales to ensure consistent service delivery
  • Understand events delivery essential
  • Can manage across stakeholder groups and delivers on promises
  • Excellent administrative and organisational skills
  • Ability to lead others and delegate effectively
  • Strong people management skills
