This position is located at the Costa Coffee at Warwick University, Coventry.



The main focus of the role will be to support the Store Manager on a daily basis in the running and organising of the unit; ensuring all health and safety, food safety measures are in place and adhered to.



The store operates on a team of up to thirty, and therefore experience leading or managing a large team would be beneficial.



The store is open throughout the year, except for two weeks at Christmas. An ideal candidate would need to be flexible with their approach to working hours, as you may sometimes be required to work evenings and weekends to suit business needs.



The position would ideally suit and experienced Supervisor or Assistant Manager looking for their next challenge

Main responsibilities


  • Opening and/or closing the unit.




  • Placing orders.




  • Training Supervisors, Team Leaders and Barista's in line the brand standard and policies.




  • Financial Responsibility/ Cash Handling.




  • Working with budgets/ trackers.




  • Closing the unit bookwork weekly, including conducting a full stock take.




  • Managing and being responsible for the unit when the Manager is not present.




  • Conducting in house Audits across Profit Protection, Silver Standards and Costa Checks to ensure the unit is on target to achieve their goals.




  • Maximising and driving sales and team morale, using initiative to think outside the box.




  • Leading by example and serving every customer with the highest level of customer service and professionalism.



     




Ideal candidate


  • A sound overall background within retail/catering services is an advantage, as is excellent food and health and safety awareness.



    We operate two busy units spread across the Warwick University campus; a Costa Coffee and a Café. Therefore, the candidate will need to express an interest in working at both units, a general back ground in adhering to health and safety and brand standards, leading and training the team effectively and driving sales.



    In this role there is a need for strong people management skills and excellent communication, with the flexibility to adapt style depending on the audience and circumstances. There is also responsibility for coaching and training the team in order to ensure that all employees have the appropriate skills to deliver an excellent service.



    There is a strong focus and need for management of budgets, labour costs and delivering against MAP sales and profit targets. Therefore commercial awareness is essential as is the ability to hold others accountable and think strategically.



    In this role there is a high level of responsibility and focus on ensuring that we are delivering a great service to our clients and customers. A strong customer service background and ethos is therefore vital.
