Levy Leisure are proud to be the catering partner for a prestigious venue based in Leeds, we provide all retail catering, conference and events requirements at this spectacular venue.



Due to an internal promotion, we are now looking for a Finance Manager.  As the Finance Manager you will be based onsite to oversee and manage the account for all catering, retail and events.  You will have a strong finance and client relationship background as you will be working closely with the stakeholders to ensure we are exceeding expectations.


Package description

  • £34k to £36K depending on experience

  • Finance Manager onsite at prestigious venue based in Leeds

  • Monday to Friday only!


Main responsibilities

We provide catering for day visitors as well as providing an ever expanding and diverse Conference and Events portfolio. As the Finance Manager you will monitor the day to day financial operations of the site.




  • preparing financial statements alongside presenting management reports to show how the venue is performing. Ensure financial implications of client contracts are understood and enforced.

  • You will have a sound technical understanding from completing your ACA, ACCA or CIMA accounting qualification.

  • High numeric and analytical skills – excellent knowledge of MS Excel

  • Regular meeting with your team and stakeholders to update on financials and targets.

  • Confident at breaking down individual costs against margins.

  • Managing a Finance Assistant, who will be supporting you to ensure our account runs smoothly.

  • Updating report on a weekly basis and making sure all figures reported are accurate

  • Managing the P&L and all Budget Financial evaluation of capex appraisals

  • Support of client rebids

  • Develop  action plans with Operations to improve margins

  • Proactively work with credit control, operations and the client to ensure invoiced debt is collected to terms

  • Optimise consumer pricing with operations to increase revenue and margins

  • Work with operations and purchasing function to ensure that correct into-unit prices are set, purchasing compliance is maximised, food wastage is minimised and food wastage is appropriately forecast and recorded

  • Ensure that menus are correctly costed to enable accurate forecasting of Cost of Sales advance – advise Operations of the impact of their menus

  • Work with operations to optimise / minimise labour and in-unit overhead costs, ensuring the Ops teams have labour planners in place and they are actively used

  • Ensure costs are accurately captured and recorded in the correct periods

  • Ensure all revenue is captured and recorded and that cash controls are in place

  • Ensure adequate financial controls are operating on site to minimise / eliminate risk of losses & theft

  • Ensure contracts and controls and being operated in line with Finance and IS + Legal Core Signatures

  • Support the forecasting and budgeting process to ensure robust and challenging targets are set

  • Review and actively control risk on the balance sheet

  • Development of system driven business intelligence (MI)

  • Ensure accounting entries comply with Group Accounting Manual


Ideal candidate

  • Ideally from similar venue or leisure background

  • High numeric and analytical skills – excellent knowledge of MS Excel

  • Ability to communicate oral and written information concisely and logically

  • Ability to analyse and evaluate information

  • Excellent inter personal skills with proven ability to influence internal and external parties

  • Ability to effectively plan and organise own work

  • Ability to take on a broad spectrum of work under pressure and to deliver in agreed timescales

  • Positive attitude towards colleagues and a strong leader.

  • Seasonal workload management
