Cardiff University is seeking to recruit a Chef to work as part of the Kitchen team. You will be part of the team preparing, cooking and serving meals for students, conference delegates and guests and to generally assist in the smooth running of the catering services within the Catering Department.
We expect the successful candidate to interact regularly with our customers and to work with the Senior Head Chef and participate in menu development groups to develop new ideas, concepts and food innovations to maximise sales.
The ideal candidate will:
- Be up to date with current food trends, creative, foodie
- Be a proven team member
- Be able to handle a variety of styles of service
- Have experience of high-volume food production
- Be able to work under pressure
- Have a working knowledge of Food Safety and adhering to all policy requirements
This post is full time (35 hours per week) and fixed term for 1 year. The role will require a flexible approach to working hours and will include some out of hours and weekend working.
