We currently have an opportunity for an experienced, hands-on, Sales and Promotions Manager to create and deliver the promotional strategy for our ESS sector.

Main responsibilities

Leading the Sales and Promotions plan you will be instrumental in driving retail sales. Reporting to and working with the Marketing Manager you will be a natural innovator and will take the lead on all promotional activity whilst keeping abreast of the latest trends and developments.


As the Sales and Promotions manager for ESS your role is pivotal to the success in driving sales.

You will be accountable for the following:


To drive retail sales across all Catering, Retail & Leisure outlets through national & local promotions.

To deliver suites of strategies that can be deployed at local level to increase participation focused around key dates, occasions and events – and to drive uptake of these by the sites.

To ensure all sales and promotions activities are fully briefed to our teams, on site, regional and senior leadership.

To communicate and drive compliance to national promotions, instilling a competitive mindset to deliver results and to report on the efficacy of each promotion.

To own the holistic customer journey across all retail outlets on each base. To liaise with the subject matter experts for each style of outlet to ensure a balanced approach with complimentary, not conflicting, promotions are applied.

Ideal candidate

To fit in with us and for us to be right for you, you will already be successful in a sales & promotions Marketing role and be an outstanding communicator. You will also be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Experience in hospitality, retail and events marketing in a B2C capacity

  • Experience of Adobe CC, design, print and production 

  • Highly organised, evidence of creating sales plans with full financial projections, prioritising tasks and meeting deadlines

  • An outstanding verbal and written communicator, comfortable liaising confidently with colleagues, clients, senior management as well as external agencies and customers

  • Comfortable analysing results and producing recommendations based on these

  • Able to work flexibly and manage their own workload in line with business requirements including attending off site meetings and out of hours events where required

  • Can do, proactive attitude

Whilst we are flexible with your work location you will be frequently required to visit sites, across England & Wales, to advise and assist on-site personnel and as such a driving licence will be required.
